Ken Cochrane, President
A corporate background gives President, Ken Cochrane, a business sense and understanding that is essential to meeting the needs of ADAMS’s clients.

Earlier in his career, he worked his way up the corporate ladder at Transamerica, gaining experience in sales and marketing. When the opportunity to take the reigns at a growing agency arose, he jumped. ADAMS has jumped with him, developing its best work for a long and diversified roster of satisfied clients. His unique sales perspective is one that clients typically find most appealing when it comes to the two things they're concerned with most: the bottom line and achieving business goals. Ken holds a BA from Bucknell University.

Steve Nuenighoff, Director of Brand Development
Steve brings ADAMS a wealth of experience innovating strategies to develop and strengthen brand identities. His background includes start-ups, sales, and marketing in the fitness, athletic performance, medical, and telecommunications industries.

Before joining ADAMS, Steve was President and co-owner of Athletes Edge, a sports performance training center. Previously, he was Director of Commercial Services at Utilicom Networks, LLC, a broadband service provider venture with investor-owned utilities. Steve holds a BS from Babson College.

Stephen Sakowich, Creative Director
With exceptional conceptual and strategic thinking skills, Stephen has over 25 years of experience in advertising, branding, corporate identity, print, direct marketing and Web design. 

He has worked with clients such as Adobe, AT&T, Bank of Boston, BASF, Body and Soul Magazine, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Christian Science Monitor, Fidelity Investments, Goebel, Sheraton, and Sonesta Hotels. Prior to joining ADAMS, he was a Creative Group Head at HBM Creamer/Direct, and has worked at various Boston advertising agencies, as well as the DeCordova Museum.

Stephen has received numerous awards over the years including Hatch, Caples, Echo, the Creative Club of Boston, NEDMA, Hotel Sales and Marketing and LCA. He holds a BFA in Design and a BFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art.

Karen Polcaro, Creative Manager
An adept and creative problem-solver, Karen has managed a variety of successful print, Web, and direct mail projects. She is also our in-house copy editor and grammar guru.

Before joining ADAMS, Karen was the Visual Communications Specialist at Erland Construction. There, she was responsible for content and creative development as well as production of all marketing materials— working on corporate branding initiatives and overseeing conceptualization, development, and ongoing maintenance of the company’s Internet and Intranet sites.

Karen holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design and is currently completing her MS in Corporate Communication from Northeastern University.

Ilya Pozin, Web Development Manager
Ilya Pozin, Internet entrepreneur, oversees ADAMS’ web development team. His expertise allows for web and interactive-media projects to be translated efficiently from concept to completion. Collaborating with ADAMS branding and design experts, the developers and programmers on Ilya’s team are an integral element when extending our client’s brands to the digital world.

Ilya has been providing quality web solutions to businesses nationally for over 7 years and has been studying Internet marketing for over 8 years with world-renowned expert, Tom Antion.

Ilya holds a BS in Information Technology from Florida State University.

Barry S. Scheur, J.D., Market Strategist
Though totally blind from birth, Barry has excelled in many careers for three decades—partnering in several prominent U.S. law firms; building a $50 million health care consulting and turnaround company; and founding and initially financing a successful venture capital fund.

A finalist for the Health Care Entrepreneur of the Year in 1996 and recipient of the 2001 Reynolds Society National Handicapped Person of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Barry has authored over 100 articles and book chapters on business and branding strategy; customer service; performance improvement; as well as other facets of health care business, strategy, and operations.

Barry brings our team a unique blend of entrepreneurial vision, business success, and legal background.  His specialty of marketing start-ups facing much larger market competitors has particularly endeared him to beleaguered health care companies needing immediate growth, including managed care and insurance companies; disease management firms; hospitals and health systems; and physician organizations.

A graduate of Tufts University and of Yale Law School, Barry has been the CEO of several successful start-ups and turnarounds, including Family Health Plan of Florida, Blue CH-ip of Rhode Island, and the Eastern Connecticut Health network.
